If you know me, you know that The Sandlot is definitely on my list for the best films of all time. This scene is vital leading to the climax of the film. This is where they take on the Tigers, their rival baseball team. This scene always leaves me in stitches. This really shows what kind of characters the Sandlot boys are. They're like brothers to each other, but when some jerk crosses one of the boys, it's done. It's a great scene in the film; they are seen as just a group of raggedy boys who don't play on a "real diamond", but they all have potential. And guess what? They end up completely smoking the other, "more professional", team. My favorite angles of the entire scene are when the camera zooms in on the wheels of the bikes as the Tigers ride toward the Sandlot boys, and when it zooms in on the ratty Converse or PF Flyers that are displayed on the feet of Benny Rodriguez and the others.

It was filmed outside, but the sound was surprisingly good. This scene consists of Phillips from the Tigers team and Ham Porter from the Sandlot team shouting insults at each other until Ham ends the whole encounter by telling Phillips that he plays ball like a girl. It gains anticipation for the game to follow, as they plan to have their game at noon the next day. I think that the message here is that one does not have to be popular or perfect to have potential or to be good at something that they're passionate about. To be honest, the scene is a little difficult to take seriously because of the nature of the insults. I think that’s what makes me love this scene so much. I have trouble taking movies seriously in general, and I don’t like movies that are super serious, so I love this scene a lot. Another message I think that this movie is putting across is how you can meet a person and be completely oblivious to them, and then they can end up being your best friend for life.

As this film is a cult classic, you’d think that it would be cheesy and annoying. But I think this scene has a great message, it’s fun to watch, and it leaves you crying of laughter. I love how this was filmed because it was filmed outside, which added to the coming of age, young wild and free vibe of the film. This scene displays comedy, friendship and fun altogether in one. It wouldn’t be a far stretch for me to say that this scene is 100% of my favorite movie scenes of all time, and The Sandlot is my favorite movie of all time. The acting is flawless (surprising none of them broke character), the setting is nice, the angles and camera work is great, and all I can do is laugh the entire time. I love this scene so much.
